Vito grew up in Taftville and Norwich areas. At 18 years of age, he joined the United States Marine Corps and remained a devoted marine for his entire life..
Vito retired from the Norwich State Hospital, after 37 and a half years employed as an Assistant Manager in the laundry dept. of the institution.
He and his wife Ruth went on a trip to the sunshine state Florida and while there they made a trip to Moosehaven in Jacksonville Florida.
