Yes, we are requesting that as a member of Bozrah 950 that you help us with our new membership goal of 100. Personally, I was floored when we received this assignment from Moose International. Quite frankly, I was angry that our Lodge received an assignment that aggregately exceeds all of the lodges in Connecticut. I questioned this assignment and was simply told that we are the largest Lodge in Connecticut and that is how the 100 new member goal was assigned.
We have a membership committee consisting of Bill Walsh, Vic DeBartolo, and me, Herb Horner. But, we can't do it alone. Last year we had the assignment of 99 new members and missed it by three. The result of that was we received the award of "Excellent" instead of "Superior" for Lodge performance issued by Moose International.
Here's my mistake. Succinctly, I did not ask our members for help. Now, I am asking for your help and with the incentive of having your dues paid for sponsoring five members we should be on our way to success. Currently, we have sponsored 31 new members and for that I respectfully and graciously say, "Thank You!"
Strategies on Membership Recruitment
When you think about it our Lodge has the reputation for having fun. Really, no member wants to join a Lodge unless it offers opportunities for good times.
We have banners and posters in the social quarters advertising social events and campaigns and seasonal decorations. If you have ideas please let us know because we are always looking for improvements.
Next month we will talk about how you as a Bozrah 950 Moose Member can help us with Member Retention.
